The Scottburgh Golf Club Annual Sardine Run Golf Tournament was started some 15 years ago by the then committee. The idea was obviously born by the idea of coinciding a three-day golf tournament with the arrival of the `Greatest Shoal on Earth`
This Tournament is played in a team format with all four players having to play in all three days to stand a chance of winning. From its humble beginnings the Sardine Run has established its self as the major fundraiser in Scottburgh Golf Club year, with all the proceeds going to maintaining the Golf Course.
This Tournament now attracts some 68 Teams of four from all over South Africa.
This year for the first time the Sardine Run will be played over two Golf Courses namely Scottburgh and Umkomaas, with all the entertainment and prize givings being held at Scottburgh, this is a fantastic fun event with prizes up for grabs on each day plus an overall prize for the three days.
It’s a great opportunity to meet new people enjoy some country hospitality and support some of the old style Golf Courses that all our dads used to play on
